Harpers Ferry is a rural and historic area at the junction of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers at the northern end of the Shenandoah Valley.  It borders on Virginia and Maryland and is only a few miles from Pennsylvania.  It's actually not too far from major metropolitan areas like Washington, Baltimore, Harrisburg and Philadelphia.

Because of Native American tribal conflicts and several major Civil War battles, many people died suddenly or violently in this area, making it an excellent place for ghost hunting.
